Emergency Response Protocol
The safety of our students, staff and visiting members of the community is a top priority in the Hampton Township School District. As such, the District has created an emergency operations plan in collaboration with local emergency responders and in accordance with regulations established by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
In order to be effective, the emergency operations plan is a confidential document that only can be accessed by authorized HTSD personnel and emergency responders.
In addition to the emergency operations plan, the District also works collaboratively with the Hampton Township Police Department and the Shaler-Hampton EMS to ensure the safety and security of our facilities.
School Resource Officer
The District employs a School Resource Officer (SRO) from the Hampton Township Police Department. The School Resource Officer program has been in place in the District since 2009. Hampton was among the first school districts in the region to adopt the program. Currently, the District is being served by Officer Aaron Zola. Officer Zola is stationed at Hampton High School, but can be dispersed to any of the District facilities upon request.
School Resource Officers (SROs) are sworn officers who are assigned to a school or school district on a long-term basis. In the case of Hampton Township School District, the SRO is a trained police officer with the Hampton Township Police Force. Since 2009, the District’s SRO role has been filled by Officer Zola (pictured above). During his first year as an SRO, he shared the position with Chief Tom Vulakovich, who was an officer on the force at the time. Read this article, which appeared in Hampton Magazine, about all of the duties Officer Zola performs for the Hampton Township School District.
