Odyssey of the Mind Team Advances to State Tournament
On Saturday, March 7, 2020, the Hampton Township School District Odyssey of the Mind program had 9 teams attend the Western PA Regional Odyssey of the Mind Tournament. 3 Teams were primary and non-competitive with students in grades K-2. 4 teams were Division I, grades 3-5 (these teams had students from all three Hampton Elementary Schools.) 2 teams were from HMS, all 6th graders this year.
A team from Wyland Elementary who participated in a Balsa Limbo challenge in which they built a structure made from balsa wood and glue only that had to pass under a 3 inch high Limbo bar and then hold weights had a structure that held 485 pounds, although only 265 pounds of weight were placed on it before time was called. They placed second in their division and will advance to the state tournament which has been postponed with a date to be announced.
The Hampton Middle School balsa team also placed second in their division and is advancing to the state tournament. Below are the team rosters for each team. Congratulations to:

A Ford Drive 4 UR School Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, May 30.
