HTSD Students Compete in CalcuSolve Event
Hampton students in 5th and 6th grade participated in CalcuSolve on November 21st at Duquesne University. CalcuSolve is a competition that tests students' problem-solving skills related to mathematics. Students compete individually and as part of a group. There were close to 90 teams from school districts in the Pittsburgh area and approximately 300 students who participated in this challenging event. Our 6th graders did an amazing job. Aditya C. tied for 1st individually with a perfect score. Paul D. tied for second individually and Daniel T. tied for third individually. One of Hampton Middle School’s 6th grade teams also took second place as a team. The team members were Rin S., Aditya C., Daniel T., and Paul D.
Fifth and sixth graders from Central, Poff and Wyland also competed in the event. Connor S. tied for second place individually for Grades 5/6. He is a 5th grade student at Central.
Way to go Hampton!
