Geometry Courses

INTERMEDIATE GEOMETRY - TECHNOLOGY ENHANCED         
Full Year
Grades 9, 10, 11, 12                                                                                      

Intermediate Geometry-TE follows Algebra I Part 2-TE or Traditional, or Algebra I-TE or Traditional.  It provides a course in Geometry for those students who would normally have difficulty with the standard course.  Intermediate Geometry TE provides a less rigorous, yet thorough, introduction to the fundamentals of Euclidean Geometry by helping students to develop basic geometric skills and by teaching the many applications of geometric principles.  This course requires students to learn and present geometric concepts orally, in writing, on a calculator and on a computer.  Students will work individually, in groups and on computers.  The computers will be used, in addition to the text and class work, as a tutor for the students to learn at their individual levels of achievement. A TI-83+ or TI-84+ graphing calculator is required.

INTERMEDIATE GEOMETRY - TRADITIONAL                                                         
Full Year
Grades 9, 10, 11, 12             

Intermediate Geometry follows Algebra I Part 2 or Algebra I.  It provides a course in Geometry for those students who would normally have difficulty with the standard course.  Intermediate Geometry provides a less rigorous, yet thorough, introduction to the fundamentals of Euclidean Geometry by helping students to develop basic geometric skills and by teaching the many applications of geometric principles.  Instructional activities will include lecture, discussion, problem solving, logical reasoning through proofs and construction.  A T1-83+ or TI-84+  graphing calculator is strongly recommended. 

GEOMETRY                          
Full Year
Grades 9, 10, 11, 12           

Geometry will help the student to perceive the role of inductive and deductive reasoning in both mathematical and non-mathematical situations.  Furthermore, the student will learn to appreciate the need for clarity and precision of language.  The course includes discussion on the subject of deductive proofs, angles and perpendicular lines, parallel lines, congruent triangles, circles, areas and volumes of solid and plane figures and an introduction into coordinate geometry.  A TI-83+ or TI-84+ graphing calculator is strongly recommended.
