Community Service

  • High School students contribute ten hours of community service per year (40 in all) to fulfill graduation requirements.
  • Hampton High School sponsors four blood drives per year as part of Central Blood Bank's Scholarship Blood Drive program.
  • The Student Council and National Honor Society collected more than $25,000 over five years to assist local families.
  • The Western Pennsylvania chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals honored Hampton Middle School with the 2009 Outstanding Youth Award for its efforts to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This was Hampton Middle School's first year to be involved in the program. In two weeks, the students raised $9,308. Hampton Middle School ranked number 38 in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's top 100 national fundraising schools, making Hampton Middle School the top fundraising school in Pennsylvania.
  • HMS hosts a senior citizen breakfast every spring to honor our local seniors.
  • The District boasts numerous charitable clubs and activities including the Helping Hands, Pennies for Peace, Hop for Leukemia, and many others.
  • The District promotes a Gold Card Program providing free access to senior citizens to District events.
  • Military veterans are annually recognized with the Hampton Heroes program. 
  • Poff Elementary hosts an annual Grandparents' Day Celebration.
  • The District makes its facilities available to the public. It works cooperatively with the Township to house programs in District buildings. These include the after-school Latchkey program, swim sessions at the High School natatorium, and adult volleyball and basketball games in school gymnasiums.
  • In 1993, the District began a Civic Virtues program which focuses on one virtue each month. The program provides the impetus for a wide range of classroom, school-wide and family projects and activities which reinforce the monthly virtue.
