Pardon Our Pride . . .

At Hampton High School, real-world learning is brought into the classroom on a daily basis. The school’s application of the Rigor, Relevance and Relationship Framework has caught the attention of other schools nationwide, which have sought to replicate the success experienced at Hampton. Some examples of how our students have excelled over the last year can be found here.

The Virginia Military Institute is hosting a new cadet recruiting event on Thursday, March 5 from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall in Pittsburgh. Your must RSVP by March 3 to attend. Stop by the counseling office for registration information.

Attention all students planning to take the SAT in March here at Hampton, the registration deadline is Friday, February 14 at midnight. Logon to sat.org/register to sign-up or go to collegeboard.com for more information.

The deadline for donations to the Counseling Cupboard has been extended through next Wednesday, February 19th. Please consider dropping off non-perishable food items in the boxes located in front of the Counseling Office. If you would like to make a financial contribution, please see one of the counselors or the secretary in the counseling office for assistance. All donations will benefit North Hills Community Outreach.

Attention female students in grades 10, 11 & 12: The Falk School of Sustainability & Environment, part of Chatham University, is hosting a Leadership Academy this summer from August 1-9 at Eden Hall Campus in Gibsonia. During this week-long retreat, you will explore topics and career options in urban planning, engineering, architecture, food systems, field biology and ecology, just to name a few. To learn more or to register, go to www.chatham.edu/leadership-academy, or stop by the counseling office for a brochure.

Hampton Gay Straight Alliance has 15 free tickets to the Penguins game on March 24 to celebrate Pride Night at the game and support the "You Can Play" and "Hockey is for Everyone" initiatives. See Ms. McBee in E522 if you want to get on the list for tickets.

There will be no biology tutoring on Wednesday, February 19, because of an extended day.
