The school’s application of the Rigor, Relevance and Relationship Framework has caught the attention of other schools nationwide, which have sought to replicate the success experienced at Hampton. Girls 7th and 8th grade Basketball team has a scrimmage today at 3:30 pm at Pine Richland.

Boys 7th and 8th grade Basketball team has a scrimmage today at home versus Pine Richland at 3:30 pm.

Boys Freshman Basketball Team has a scrimmage today at Mount Lebanon at 3:45 pm.

Girls Hampton Youth Lacrosse registrations have begun for the 2020 season. Registration is open to all Hampton Township girls in grades K-8. Please click here for more information.

Hampton tennis coach, players and Stephanie Smith Lakevue tennis pro are hosting a Friday night lights & pizza - introduction to tennis for students in 4 – 8th grades every Friday staring Oct 25 through December 20 from 7pm – 8pm at Lakevue Athletic Club in Valencia. Cost is $20 per day. Contact Ron mercer at 412-576-8957 for more information.


Attention all cooking club members - A reminder that our next meeting is today, Wednesday, Dec. 4. We will be preparing special Holiday breakfast foods. Please remember to bring a container for your culinary creations. Departure time for your ride home is 4:00 pm.

The Tech Specialist Help Desk will have new hours. If you are having trouble with your device, stop by the library on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings from 7:30 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. The help desk will no longer be open during the afternoon. As always, the library staff will help students with device issues during library hours.

A reminder that The Robotic Studio (next to library) and Print Studio (Art room) is open from 7:30 a.m. – 7:50 a.m. during bus time.  Students must sign up on the weekly calendar board outside of each studio one week ahead to attend.  Space is limited to 10 students each morning.  Come and explore the new robotics or learn print screening. The Robotics Studio will have weekly challenges. 

The Math Lab is located in D403.  Math Lab is available Monday – Friday mornings from 7:30-7:50 and Monday – Thursday after school from 2:45 – 3:45.

Homework club will be held in Room D409 and will be offered every day Monday-Thursday from 2:45-3:45.  No homework club on Fridays! Any student who would like to attend is welcome. Please come prepared with your materials.

Do you struggle with writing assignments? Do you want some extra help to make sure your next essay is the best it can be? Stop by the Writing Lab in the morning during bus room! The Writing Lab is open to all students on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:30 to 7:50 in room D416. You can visit during any stage of the writing process, whether you are still brainstorming or are working on a final draft. Please bring an assignment sheet and rubric when you visit.  


Attention Art Club:  We will NOT be meeting this week.  Stay tuned here – info about our next meeting will be announced soon.

Attention all Helping Hands members: There will be a meeting Tuesday after school in Mrs. Bentz’s room.  Make sure your ride is in the back of the building at 3:45 for pick up. See you there!

A reminder to all students participating in PRSEF – The Science Fair taking place in March.  You need to share your science project title and category through Google Docs to Miss Cohen by Friday if you plan to participate as she has to register you.

We are looking for a few self-motivated talented writers who would like to get their work published in The Hampton News Monthly for the January and February issue.  A 300 word article could be written on events that you feel are newsworthy at HMS such as a new club, collection type events happening for charities, advisory activities to name just a few.  We are open to suggestions!  If you enjoy writing this may be a great opportunity for you to shine!  Please sign up in the Enrichment Center with Miss Cohen and Mr. Hartman to get more details.

Are you an artist?  Do you like sharing your art work?  Gallery HMS is seeking new work for upcoming exhibitions!  Imagine: your first solo show! Imagine: your middle school masterpiece!  Imagine: HMS fame! Gallery HMS is located in the lobby showcase.  We are able to display paintings, drawings, sculptures and more. Each month, a new student artist will be selected to exhibit their work. All of the work you submit must be your original artwork, created without the help of an adult. Please see Mrs. Woods ASAP if you are interested in exhibiting your artwork!


Students need a bus pass to go home with a friend on a different bus. A bus pass will be issued when both students bring a note from their parents to the main office during bus room. The bus pass is the only way the bus driver will permit students on a different bus. Students are permitted to bring a maximum of 2 friends home on their bus.

Are you looking for an easy way to help your school? Watch for Box Tops on hundreds of items at home, cut them out & drop them off in the school office! It's that easy & doing it brings money into our school for fun things like...8th grade dinner dance, 7th grade Medieval days, 6th grade Greek Olympics and much more! Thanks for your support!

CHIP covers uninsured kids up to age 19 in Pennsylvania. It does not matter why your kids don’t have health coverage right now; CHIP may be able to help.

All family trips must be pre-approved by the principal. An Educational Travel Form must be completed 2 weeks prior to missing school for a trip. Pre-approval forms are available in the office and on the Hampton Township School District website. A completed form signed by the parent/guardian, the principal and all of a student’s teachers must be returned to the office before the trip. Family educational travel should be limited to no more than five days per school year. Assignments are due the day the student returns to school.

For the safety of all students during the busy time of student arrival and dismissal, we ask to adhere to the following procedures:

  • AM Drop-Off - Parents should proceed down School Drive and enter the Middle School parking lot proceeding to the rear of the building and drop off students at exit #11. Please enter the Cafeteria entrance not the Library entrance. This is for the safety of all our students in the front of the building.
  • For PM Pick-Up - Parents should proceed to the rear of the building pull into the lot and pick up students at exit #11.
