We are excited to begin implementation of Phase 2 of the District’s One-to-One Initiative by issuing iPads to students in grade 2 and HP laptops to students in grades 4, 7, and 9 during class in the first week of the 2018-2019 school year. Students in grades 3, 5, 8 and 10 will keep their devices which were issued last year and should bring their charged devices to school on the first day.
Please note that devices for ALL students in grades 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, and 10 will need to be registered. In addition, parents and guardians will need to either accept or decline insurance for their student’s devices for the upcoming year.
The window for registration and insurance decisions is July 18, 2018 until August 15, 2018.
Sometime between July 18 and August 15, please click on THIS LINK and follow the step-by-step instructions in order to register your child’s device and either accept or decline insurance. If you need assistance with the device registration or insurance, please contact Carla Kramer at (412) 492-6321 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Additional information and details are also available HERE; however, if you have any further general questions, please feel free to contact your building principal.
- Students in grade 2 will be issued an iPad in August; however, the iPads will remain at school for the students’ use until the second semester in order to allow time for the teachers to work with the students on proper iPad care and use. In January, second grade students will begin to take their iPads home with them.

- Students in grades 2, 4, 7, and 9 will receive a hands-on orientation at school for their individual device during the school days following the distribution.
Thank you for your prompt attention to device registration and insurance decisions during the July 18 to August 15 window. We hope you have a wonderful summer and look forward to welcoming your child back when the school year starts.
