Jan. 24: Digital Citizenship Workshop Scheduled
Parents of students in grades 4-8 in the Hampton Township School District are invited to an evening presentation on Digital Citizenship with Mr. Phillip Little, Education and Outreach Specialist with the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office. The presentation will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019 in the Hampton Middle School Auditorium.
Mr. Little will explain the concept of digital citizenship to parents, and how individuals – including children – who use the Internet and social media are responsible for using these digital tools appropriately. He will discuss expectations for children while online, and appropriate use of social media. He also will explore the consequences of improper use of the Internet, online dangers, cyberbullying and what it means to leave a “digital footprint.”
This presentation is intended for parents of students in grades 4-8 and is not appropriate for children. Mr. Little will be presenting an age-appropriate version of his program to Middle School students during the school day on Jan. 24. The presentation was arranged through the cooperation of Mrs. Lux, Mr. Silbaugh and the HMS PTO.
