The Hampton Heroes program has been an ongoing effort by the Hampton Township School District to recognize and honor veterans. To date, over 200 men and women who have served in the Armed Forces have been inducted into the program. This year, the District will induct nine new members to its ranks.
The 2018 inductees are: Maj. Brian Hamlin, U.S. Air Force; Dr. Charles (Tom) Brophy, U.S. Army Reserves; Mr. Robert L. Horvat, Sr., U.S. Army; Mr. Jason Pike, U.S. Army; Mr. Mark Crump, U.S. Navy; Mr. Michael Clark, U.S. Army; Mr. Steven Rodenbaugh, U.S. Navy; Mr. George F. Watts, Jr., U.S. Army National Guard; and Mr. Stanley A. Jochim, U.S. Navy.
A full breakfast will be served to veterans and their guests prior to the event. Following breakfast, inductees will be honored during a special ceremony, featuring guest speaker Maj. Brian Hamlin. Maj. Hamlin served with the 1st Fighter Wing out of Langley Air Force Base from 1999 through 2003. He was deployed to Prince Sultan Air Base, Al Khari, Saudi Arabia from November 2001 through February 2002.
Following the ceremony, veterans who wish to participate are able to share their stories and their military service memorabilia with Hampton High School students as part of a Veterans’ Museum.
