Nov. 8-10: HS Drama Club Presents "Don't Drink the Water"
The Hampton High School Drama Club takes on the Woody Allen classic “Don’t Drink the Water” Nov. 8-10 at Hampton High School. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and can be purchased at the door. All show times are 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium.
The situational comedy takes place in an unnamed European country behind the Iron Curtain. An American Ambassador must leave the embassy for business, leaving his incompetent son Axel Magee in charge. In the very incapable hands of Axel, the embassy is immediately thrust into crisis when an American family of tourists seek shelter at the embassy while on the run from the Communist police. The family accidentally sneaks into a high-security area and takes photos, causing the Communists to believe the family are spies. As Axel attempts to negotiate, the embassy is surrounded by the Communists, trapping everyone inside. Axel and the American family members trapped inside with him go to great lengths to escape their predicament.
The drama club is an all-student run organization, from the scenic design and set building, to the fabulous costumes. The fall play will be directed by seniors Allison Crouch and Mia Saltrelli.
