PSAT

All 11th and 10th grade students in the Hampton Township School District are required to complete the Preliminary SAT (PSAT) exam. This program is sponsored by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation. The standardized test provides first hand practice and experience with the process. The PSAT measures critical reading skills, math problem solving skills and writing. The test is administered during school hours on a specific date that is established by the College Board.

The PSAT is a test to assist students in identifying academic strengths and weaknesses and to provide them with practice and assistance for the SAT that will have an impact on their college application process. In addition to the testing, students taking the PSAT will receive a free personalized PSAT college planning kit online. Using this kit, students will be able to access:

  • An online Score Report
  • A customized SAT study plan
  • Personalized lists of majors and careers
  • A personalized list of colleges
  • Access to MyRoad - an interactive majors, college, and career exploration program
