Recycle Rama

Hampton High School parking lot

The Fourth Annual Hampton School District Recycle Rama will be Saturday April 23, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Hampton High School parking lot. The items listed below will be collected, so please start putting them aside to bring to the school that day.

Information below is from the 2010 Collection.  The items being collected will be much the same but watch for updates during the school year regarding contact person(s) and vendors.

Electronic equipment – Computer monitors are $5 each and televisions are $1 per inch. All other items will be accepted free of charge.

Cell phones, printer cartridges, rechargeable and alkaline batteries - no car batteries

Construction materials – materials collected by Construction Junction (CJ) and are to be in useable condition and suitable for use in a home project. CJ has the right to refuse any materials they deem unfit.

Appliances – Only those without freon. Call 1-888-GO FREON for curbside pickup of your freon appliances.

Scrap metal – collected by Fitzsimmons Metals

Plastic grocery bags - for each bag of plastic bags, you will receive a reusable grocery tote, while supplies last.

Paper, cardboard

Clothing, shoes, small household items – to be collected by the Salvation Army

Towels and blankets – to be donated to local animal shelters

Used books – No text books, magazines, ex-library books or encyclopedias. Collected by Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts to be donated to the North Hills Youth Ministry Counseling Center (Anchorpoint) for their used book sale

Business Attire – both men’s and women’s, to be donated to Treasure House and St. Vincent De Paul (collected by Girl Scout Troop 237)

Prom and bridesmaid dresses - collected by Girl Scout Troop 313

Hampton athletic uniforms, spirit wear, and sports equipment – sponsored by GS Troop 938. We will collect any reusable uniforms, tee-shirts, sweatshirts, athletic equipment, such as bats, helmets, LAX sticks and goggles, cleats, ballet shoes. Must be clean and in useable condition. Please stop by on Recycle Rama day to pick up anything you would like for your families. This is a great opportunity to pick up equipment for your budding sports star. Pickup boxes will be available at the schools and Community Center.

Please note that we will not accept paint, motor oil, tires, or car batteries. We have the right to refuse items we deem unfit for recycling at this event.
