The state Department of Education recognized Hampton as one of only three Allegheny County School Districts that has been recognized for making adequate yearly progress (AYP) for all six years the Keystone Achievement Awards have been given. The report was released Friday, November 20, 2009
The State recognized 1,939 public schools statewide for making AYP for two consecutive years covering 2007-08 and 2008-09. A total of 96 schools in Allegheny County have made the list for all six years. Hampton, along with Avonworth and Brentwood school districts are the only ones in Allegheny County which have had all schools in their districts that have made the list.
