Registration for the 2017 Summer Program is now open, and exciting things are happening this year!
Available for the first time to students are the following classes:
- Fairytale STEAM class for students in grades K-2
- Math Comes Alive with STEAM
- Robot Mania - Innovations of Tomorrow, which incorporates the Finch Robot and Sphero Robot
- Hummingbird Robot Make-a-Thon, which uses the Hummingbird Kit and visual programming software
Camp Invention for middle-school children, known as Invention Project, also will be offered for the first time this year. Hampton is the only school district in the Pittsburgh area offering the Invention Project. This camp is similar to the K-5 Camp Invention offered for the first time last summer at Hampton. This year, both camps will run simultaneously the last week of July at Wyland Elementary School. Camp Invention is a full-day camp for students in grades K-5 and Invention Project is a half-day, morning camp for students in grades 6-8.
Other popular courses returning to this year's program include: Math SAT Prep, Reading/Writing SAT Prep, Mastering Your College Essay, Driver's Ed, Summer Theater, Kitchen Cook-off, World Cuisine, Sew Fun, Summer Intramurals, Art Explorations, Babysitting, Programming Fun, Incredible Edible Science Experiments, and many more!
Hampton is once again partnering with the Baierl Family YMCA to offer afternoon recreational camps to accompany our morning camps for those families in need of full-day care options.
