A 5K Walk/Run and Funfest will be held on Saturday, May 12, at Hampton High School. Proceeds from the event will benefit the National MPS Society, in honor of former Hampton employee Amy Yard, whose son was diagnosed with a form of MPS (Mucopolysaccharidoses). The society is conducting research that will hopefully benefit all of those diagnosed with the various forms of MPS. Presently, there is no cure.
The walk/run will begin in front of the community pool at 9 a.m., with the Funfest portion of the event following the completion of the race and lasting until 1 p.m. Games, food and children’s activities will be included at the Funfest, as well as raffles for several gift baskets. The event is being sponsored by the High School National Honor Society.
To register for the race, please download this form. Credit card donations can be made directly to the MPS using this website: http://www.funfestformps.com/. Click on the “Register Online” button at the top right hand corner of the page.
