EV-D68 is a type of enterovirus most commonly found in infants, children and teenagers that affects the respiratory system. There are more than 100 types of the virus in circulation, which results in 10 to 15 million cases each year across the United States. EV-D68 infections are believed to occur less frequently than other enteroviruses.
